I enjoyed 'Social Network' too.
I also really liked the Herzog 'Bad Lieutenant' with Nic Cage--funny stuff.

The Social Network was annoying and corny. Full of that "seamless", "snappy", back-and-forth dialogue that ruins so many TV programs (especially hour-long dramas) these days (as well as Kevin Smith films). And most of it was delivered in support of the idea of how edgy-cool/brilliant/Machiavellian the Zuckerman character is. All designed to produce a sense of awe in the viewer--god, shit like that gets on my nerves. The type of entertainment experience that leaves me feeling like Holden Caulfield--like shit.

Head has some fun bits, but it's really one of those films that's more fun to read about than sit through.

The Ealing films were great: Whiskey Galore, Kind Hearts and Coronets, Passport to Pimlico, The Lavender Hill Mob, The Titfield Thunderbolt, The Maggie, The Ladykillers, Went the Day Well, The Man in the White Suit, Hue and Cry . . .
