you mean you are not paying for that dvd?? shame on you
i have a promo dvd from a couple of weeks, and yes is great, expecially that 1964 chimes of freedom - the drummer during 1965 LARS is embarassing tho, he really cant understand what the fuck he is suppose to play
joanie is like always an impossible bitch - you really have to wonder how boby could have her around, if not for sexual reasons

Another thing that strikes me watching this is that the whole Newport electric thing...it wasn't that big a deal. boby played, people made noise--cheers and some boos mixed--another boby show. On the acoustic encore of Tamby one can see what could be a tear coming from boby's left eye, but I think it was just sweat.

yeah, and is also the only LARS ever where boby sings just like on the record
i agree about the electric 65 not a big deal; as boby said about woodstock 94, "it was just another show"
i wonder how many people make a living with the newport 65 legend

yeah they showed it the other night (figured you chaps would already be Dime-o-Dozening it... or whatever the fuck thats all about)
I'm not that much of an Ologist so not sure if some of it has circulated before but lots of it is new on me. The 64 Chimes of Freedom is particulary great and the workshop stuff (Seeing him play Who Killed Davey Moore was the bomb)

I love how they wait til the end of the songs to boo him because they're too polite to do it while he's playing. Thanks for the link.

i wonder how many people make a living with the newport 65 legend well, it's safe to say that nobody made more off it than boby. and cripes is right--those so-called tears were obviously sweat, nothing more. also, not to sound like a conspiracy theorist or anything, but, if you listen closely, you'll hear something odd in the levels on the booing. either they were boosted for effect or edited in, but it definitely doesn't sound natural. i've long suspected the whole dylan-goes-electric saga was way overblown, and this confirms it for me.

that's another one sorted
the booing was because the crowd wanted more. Part of all this has to do with Yarrow (what a little nerk he is by the way) and his throwaway comment about Bobby's coming back with an acoustic guitar - that had more to do with him and his hang ups than the crowd. The crowd wanted Bob back and didnt give a shit if he was plugged in or not.

Yarrow knew what was happening backstage, tho, and obviously there is no film about seeger and others getting nut for the electric set

Yarrow upped the unintentional comedy at Newport big time. Kinda like Dick Smothers as a solo act. 'So two Jews walk into a bar....' 'Newport audiences are the greatest in the world....I think Jackie Gleason said that.....'

More Yarrow laffs: Oh great! So now I'm the asshole. All this shit is now my fault right? Now, instead of this being the 'Newport Folk Festival', it's the 'Peter Yarrow Is An Asshole Festival'. I love it! I fucking love it.
