Here's one that had a lot of cultural impact for me and many others in the '80s--the TV ad for the 'Hey Love' 'soul' compilation LP. You have to watch it to the end to see what I'm talking about, but a minor catch phrase came from this ad. To this day I love to say 'no my brother--you've got to buy your own'. Hey Love TV ad

thanks for the torrent link... of course, I've meant the colour footage only, and the 2:10-2:40 sec on the 2nd clip - wonder what was that about, them singing "That'll be the day" without instruments, looks like some ad hoc moment at some press conference?

even the canadians sometime get it right youtube.com/watch?v=0Nhmx2fFnFE"The Rock Scene - Like it Is" O'Keefe Center Toronto CAN 1967 Dionne Warwick Don't Make Me Over; Alfie; The Windows of the World Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66 Day Tripper; Mais Que Nada Eric Andersen Rollin' Home; Thirsty Boots The Doors The End (live) Jefferson Airplane White Rabbit; Two Heads; The Ballad of You and Me and Pooneil Broadcast Date: October 16, 1967 53:44 CBC Television show Host: Noel Harrison This TV show is a superb time capsule from the late 1960s. It features performances (mostly lip-synched, as was the norm at the time) from some of the day's contemporary musicians. It's truly "of the moment" and really is a treat to watch. The performances were taped at the CBC's Toronto studios in August and September, 1967. From the telecast, here is the introductory statement from host Noel Harrison: "Our show tonight is about "today." It's about the freeing of the mind through lyrics, poetry, music, sights and sounds. You don't have to like everything you see; and that is indeed a part of the philosophy of today. Today is where you are, whether you like it or not, so look at it. We're going to show you some of the young talent that is pushing back the frontiers and finding a whole new scene for themselves." From pre-broadcast interview with Harrison in the Globe and Mail: "I think it's going to be the best popular music program ever produced on TV" Harrison said. "It's honest; isn't trying to feed anybody any lines. The English have no money to do this type of thing; the Americans get panicky. Yeah, Canadian TV seems much more open. The media in the States are worried only about creating the effect. Up here they give us enough time to record."

haha, never saw this before - I was only 14 at the time - Jarmush, Depp & Partibrejkers ("Partybreakers", Serbian cult band from the 80-ies, I know the lead singer Cane really, really good) in Belgrade's famous club SKC in 1992 (saw many fine bands there myself) - I have no idea how this came about, I think it was because of our Kusturica who was at the time making "Arizona Dream" (1993) with Johnny.* Johhny's first words were "hello" in Serbian ("zdravo"), then he goes on with some Serbian curses ("zayebi sve" = "fuck it all", "sve je to pickin dim" -pronounced: "sve ye to peechkeen deem" - now that sounds nasty when translated ("it's all a cunt's smoke"), but it's an idiom meaning "it doesn't matter at all", "it's all worthless", putting something down... ). they're all quite sober, of course: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1C574mkfnc*I was right, just googled it out; february 1992, FEST (traditional Serbian Film Festival), Kusta brought them.
