Pick of the week: A Fool in Love snags the top spot, with a handful of cool tunes in a multi-way tie for second: Nice ‘n’ Easy, Apache, Les enfants du Pirée (Dalida's version of Never on Sunday), Let’s Have a Party and Over You. Other singles I liked: Nobody Knows, Nobody Cares, OK, So What?, Now That Summer Is Here, No Shoes, Yea Why (sort of a pre-British Invasion vibe there), Diamonds and Pearls, Honest I Do, Where Yo Is, either version of Devil or Angel, She’s Just a Whole Lot Like You, Little Lover. Hey folks, how is everybody doing?

I drop by every now and then to see if anything's cooking. One thing I noticed last week was that the views on this thread seemed higher than I remembered, so I jotted down the number, and it turns out this thread is still getting a few hundred views a week. Cool beans.

I wish I had time to resume the Jukebox posts, but they take a while to put together. That was fine when I had a job sitting in front of a computer all day with plenty of dull stretches, but those days are long gone. Still, I'd like to get back to it at some point, if only because almost all those "Not on YouTube" songs are now available on YouTube.

One thing I've been doing is going over the charts I posted, downloading the songs I like from YouTube and converting them to mp3s, and then making a mega-mix folder (I'm talking 5-6 hours worth of music) of mp3s to listen to while I'm commuting. So far, I've done playlists (of several hundred songs each) for 1960, 1961 and 1962 (and I'm starting on 1963). They're mp3s, so the sound isn't great and the volume sometimes varies and they're tailored to my taste (so no Jose Feliciano or anything of that ilk), and there's a fair amount of non-American stuff rubbing shoulders with the hits you know. Still, if any of the regulars here are interested in a copy of any or all of the folders, let me know and I'll see if I can send it/them to you via DropBox.
