Keane at 8 and 13? Sweet fucking christ, that's the stupidest thing I've ever read. And I've read Tom Clancy's entire catalogue.

Perhaps one of you brits can explain this to me. Noel has appeared on the russell brand show a few times over the last few weeks (I gather they're friends or something) nominally to discuss the new album...is this what passes for British humour these days? That guy has to be the single most unfunny person I've ever heard. Just dreadful in every way. I actually had to turn off the 2nd show, it was so irritating.

Blacks and Jews aren't as funny as they used to be either.

Why is it that every list of the best UK albums is skewed heavily towards shit from 1990 or later?

Not really. Spin magazine is the only one I can think of.

in the DM dvd, noel says they've been sued a few times. presumably by the trex estate and coke....anyone else?
for those who havent seen it, the record company rang noel a few times to say they had a good case, but noel didnt want to.

I think by Coke, Stevie Wonder had an issue with step out (sounds like uptight), and whatever, I don't think there was anyone else, offhand. Bolan's people never did anything with cigarettes & alcohol that I know of.
The song they were speaking of in particular was the band from one of the reality shows (one of the ones before pop idol), whose name is escaping me, that had a song that sounded suspiciously like all around the world.

"Bolan's people never did anything with cigarettes & alcohol that I know of."
bolan got most of his musical ideas from old blues and rockabilly songs.
