this song was released on this day in 1972 on this album: it's very much of its time with the wah wah guitar solo and everything. kokomo blues was maybe written in the 30s by a guy called jim "kokomo" arnold. kokomo was a town in indiana famous as a stopping off point for blues musicians making their way north to chicago. it's the blueprint for robert johnson's "sweet home chicago": tinyurl.com/27eu62john renbourn, kokomo blues: www.sendspace.com/file/ma1b07

frank tips his hat to syd? from the liner notes to the syd barrett "crazy diamond" box set: "A subsequent review in 'IT', termed the quartet a "psychedelic pop group" and described their "scary feed back sounds and slide projections (which) produced outer space/prehistoric textures on the skin". Other accounts noted that the power blew out during 'Interstellar Overdrive', which suggested that by this stage the Floyd were blending original songs to a set once-renowned for freaked-out readings of 'Louie, Louie' and 'Road Runner'" the mothers of invention at the newport jazz festival 1969, louie louie: www.sendspace.com/file/5w1298

well I never been to england, but I kinda like the beatles...here's El doing this great little number on his terrific 1972 tour: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yTGh4WMwu0the reason it's in this thread and not in the cripes' El thread is because I'd like to hear the original... Hoyt Axton? Thanx.

it's from the "Elvis on tour" (1972) film, I think it's only avaliable on VHS and not on DVD, off to work, will check later, but it's as great as "Elvis: that's the way it is" (1970), Elvis being little fatter here, but still amazing, check out this terrific version of "I got a woman": www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDmuJpjktnAor this funny moment -- www.youtube.com/watch?v=10tQufpbeL4
