tommy james and the shondells, hanky panky, 1964: www.sendspace.com/file/f1ys6gthere's an interesting story behind this song which you can check out here: www.history-of-rock.com/raindrops.htmit was written by greenwich and barry and they'd recorded their own version in 1963 as the b side of a single called, "that boy john", under the name, "the raindrops". greenwich and barry recorded a shitload of their own compositions as the raindrops but i can't get hold of any examples through the usual channels. anybody got any raindrops stuff?

"Never heard of Bowie getting arrested. Unpaid parking fines? "
The photo of David Bowie, which was snapped in Rochester, New York following the singer's March 1976 arrest on a felony pot possession charge. Bowie, 29 at the time, was nabbed along with Iggy Pop and two other codefendants at a Rochester hotel following a Saturday concert. Bowie was held in the Monroe County jail for a few hours before being released. The Rochester Police Department mug shot was taken three days after Bowie's arrest, when the performer appeared at City Court for arraignment.

here's some culture for youse bloody ignorant apes. sonata in d by domenico scarlatti: www.sendspace.com/file/q5hy7vthe performer is a guy called walter carlos who, during the making of the film a clockwork orange (he "wrote" the soundtrack), changed into a gal, wendy. he was one of the early pioneers of the moog synthesizer (this piece was recorded in the late 60s). scarlatti was also a bit ac/dc. he had a relationship with a famous castrato, farinelli. you can lose your balls, you can lose your dick but the music goes on and on. carry that weight. not.

picked up a john renbourn cd in a bargain bin. best 4 euros ive spent in a while. heres one from it - sally go round the roses www.sendspace.com/file/ak9is1it credits it to spector and a quick google search reveals it was originally performed by the jaynetts, so im assuming this is our main man Phil ?
