actually it's xmas day in both countries. it would be more precise to say, in italy at 00.01 a.m. xmas morning (after a long long evening's wait with a very bored and tired family, and in england when you wake up xmas morning.

the north of italy is influenced by northern european tradition (turin/france, milan/austria) while the south has a more arab/greek culture.
when i said italy in the previous post i should have really said sicily. two different things.

Here in Quebec, the French open gifts and have the big dinner Christmas Eve, while everybody else who celebrates Christmas does it on the day itself.

check out this cool chick: nora hardwick (yeah, i know), 102, poses nude for a christmas charity calendar. only a red silk scarf curtains her mature busty substances. i think all the guys here would be proud to go five rounds with nora, right?

Speaking as a first generation Canadian of Eastern European decent (catholic) we opened our presents Christmas Eve at around 8pm. Then we went to midnight mass.
I married a 5th generation Canadian (English/Irish decent) and they opened theirs Christmas morning.
Once married, we came to a compromise and decided to open one gift each on Christmas Eve and the rest would be opened on the following morning. Actually, I enjoyed doing it that way best.

We open gifts at my Moms house on Xmas eve, cause we also spend xmas day there and dont want to open things in front of relatives you really dont buy fro. We do small things xmas day. But at home with Wife and kid, and when I was still at my moms it was always xmas day. And always the stocking when you first get up, which seems to get later every year. Of course that will change when Sam figures it out this year.

Funny you should post this. My wife and MIL are watching some awful Brit movie upstairs with Helen Mirren, where the ladies decide to do a nude calandar. I hate those kind of movies.
