Not sure where to put this, but it's sort of boby-related....
Saw Levon Helm and his band (including ol' larry campbell) the other night. Levon's in rough shape. Only sang on ophelia and a verse of the weight, but saying he 'sang' is a bit of a misnomer...croaked, more like it. Shame to see one of rock's great voices silenced.

"I feel an album comin' on........." EU copyright on James Joyce works liftedUpdated: 11:21, Sunday, 1 January 2012 Today sees the lifting of copyright restrictions on the major works of Irish author James Joyce in Europe. Up until now the reading of his work in public had been significantly curtailed. Many literary events will take place throughout 2012 to mark the change, including Bloomsday 2012. Meanwhile, Dubliners will be encouraged to read the book of the same name as part of the One City, One Book campaign in April.

for anybody who hasn't got it here's the booklet (in pdf format) which comes with the biograph 3 cd package: www.sendspace.com/file/6nbhw8i never got round to buying biograph for various reasons: i was living in italy, didn't have a cd player, it was expensive, i thought there was nothing of interest on it... anyway i sneaked looks at the booklet in friends' houses over the years and always sort of wanted it myself - the cameron crowe stuff looked well written and dylan's comments on the songs seemed interesting - but never got round to buying it. i've been trying to find it on the internet for a couple of years without success. then i got to thinking there was some boby conspiracy going on, he was blocking the online publication for some reason. i finally got hold of it today and reading the first couple of comments on the songs i'm wondering if the folkprocesser hasn't blocked it because it shows his ignorance of stuff he later claimed to know all about? here's what he says about baby let me follow you down: "I think it's a Rev Gary Davies song. He used to sing it 'Baby let me lay it on you'..." rev gary? no memphis minnie, no big bill broonzy, no blind boy fuller?

i remember it as a good read all the same... thx for the upload always handy to have on the pc. i remember quoting the passage about hendrix on the old pool to contradict some nerd's assumption on dylan's views. cant remember what he actually said about jimi now though...took me ages to find it at the time.

apparently that medal of freedom means nothing to boby. what he really wanted to win was the silver star.
