I came across this today-- East Side of Town by Melinda Marx on YouTube. It's Groucho's daughter doing a pretty obvious 'Downtown' rip, but it's a good song. If only they had altered the lyric just the tiniest little bit, no one would have known it was a 'Downtown' rip. Nice slightly haunting Shangri-la's kinda thing happening. I dig it the most.

Did Mick Taylor inherit Bill Wyman's face?

Darwin & the Cupids' 'How Long' and 'All My Sorrows' by The Chordettes are both atmospheric gems that I never heard before.
'Apache' still gives me a boner.

So Jack White is re-issuing in print music on a boutique format (yeah, I mean vinyl) and he thinks he's helping?
He's acting like a dilettante. Not impressed.

I only knew of him via the 'ACNE' (Ayers, Cale, Nico, Eno) June 1974 live record. His was the side that nobody ever played.

I was previously only aware of The Willows' version of 'Church Bells May Ring' but I got a kick out of just about all of the above listed.

Haha--they snuck the 'Ring of Fire' riff in there. This is out of my usual strike zone but I always kinda liked 'Rock Your Baby' by George McCreae. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuFnoQvbLCU

Looks like early '70s from the bass player's hair and glasses.
I wonder if any Johnny Kidd vids will ever show up.

'Wild Weekend' has a great sound, and 'Little Boy Lost' is a jewel as well.
