Thanks for posting jana. I'm always delighted to hear from those who knew the participants. It also looks like we got an unpublished Bob quote about the bell. Do you know if your uncle ever published the interview? I don't think the Dylanologists have ever dug it up. By the way, I ran across a couple of photos taken in front of City Lights and I think I see your uncle standing on the left. It looks like it was taken around the same time (late '65). Lots to other press conference attendees in the shot too (Ferlinghetti, McClure, Ginsburg, Goodrow). Thanks again for posting.

This is one of my favorite autographs ever. I had a friend who worked on a TV talk show in LA back in the '90s who would get autographs for me when someone cool guested on the show. I sent him this LP cover and asked my friend to have Richard write 'I invented you' on the record cover. When my friend had him sign it Richard said 'I invented you? That's funny. People come up to me with rolls of toilet paper wanting me to sign it and say 'I invented that'.

Remember this guy? Eric Weill I found a whole bunch of new info about him in the SF Chronicle archives and also online. I revised the first part of the story, but here is some raw data--some I used, some I didn't. Check the last paragraphs of the article to see an unfavorable review of Eric's art exhibit: Picture of the Stones at SF Civic: Other stuff: Eric also had a twin sister, Rita Weill, who was a folksinger in the sixties. You can hear her on YouTube if you look it up.

1st choice-Mick 'fatso' Taylor (if he counts). Otherwise, Ron Wood.

West lived in Ketchum, Idaho, He was listed in the phone book. Here's something that's new to me--a 1991 TV pilot written by Conan O'Brian and Robert "Triumph the Insult Comic Dog" Smigel called 'Lookwell' starring Adam West--lotsa laffs. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBQ3HbB0c8Y

It's been a while, but here's an Island exclusive for all you cnuts. There is a story here: cohencentric.com/2015/04/01/leonard-cohen-iggy-pop-2-stories-about-a-proposed-three-way/…which I'll copy and paste here: The Leonard Cohen VersionI visited Iggy in the studio. Somebody showed us a clipping with a personal ad, a young woman looking for ‘a man with the mind of Leonard Cohen and the body of Iggy Pop.’ We wrote a polite letter suggesting we meet sometime, both signed it and placed my telephone number under it. The girl answered. Unfortunately, her only interest was in leading profound conversations. The Iggy Pop VersionYears ago, some girl wrote in the classifieds saying she was looking for a man ‘with the poetic sensitivity of Leonard Cohen and the raw power of Iggy Pop,’ so Leonard tried to get me to set up a three-way with her [laughs]. He said, ‘Dude, we can give her both!’I've recently found the paperwork in my archives. I had a friend who worked at the paper at the time (The Bay Guardian) who shared this with me. I figure enough time has passed. Geez guys…like you don’t get enough female attention? Couldn’t save some neurotic wimmins for the rest of us non icons?

I gotta give a shout out to William Schallert--dead at 93. Definitely one of the last of those late fifties/early sixties ubiquitous TV character actors I grew up with.

Back in first grade there was some genius who rhymed 'lady from Pasadena' with 'big fat wiener'.
...as if she had a dick. That was the joke. It was pretty funny in first grade.

Happy 75th to Ringo today.
His public persona over the last 25 years has been one of a borderline retard.
Peace and love.
