what a piece of shit - even for the 60s this was a fucking dog of a movie and anyone who retorts with any twaddle about how "good" it is is fooolz

wouldn't disagree with hobes here. good music, shit film.
however, the song help is arguably the greatest pop song ever recorded so the film is always worth a watch just to see if it turns up again after the beginning has finished.

Sorry, but both Hard Day's Night and Help! are terrific films, and the fact they weren't intended to be "serious works" is among the best things about them. Next time, either drink more or drink less. Obviously, you got the dosage wrong . . .

That's a strange HST thing Nick. Looks kind of fuzzy. What's it supposed to be? I have a pretty good HST documentary that played on cable recently called "Buy The Ticket Take The Ride" that I transferred to DVD. I also made a collection of interviews and just about anything else on HST a couple years ago with our old pal Gopher. That one is 2 DVDs. If you want either of those just let me know and I'll send them to you.

great stuff. i'm guessing gerry's version was a demo. let's face it, even he wasn't that bad.
it all goes to show that, "the liverpool sound", "merseybeat", whatever you want to call it... was all down to two guys. lots of useless cunts got rich on it but only two guys were doing anything original. same goes for newcastle, london, manchester, birmingham...
