You gotta love this guy....
Life, when not condescending invites one to think like when one leans out over a cliff....... My days of deprivation are not of any worth.

Ode to a Skyscraper by Felix Unger
Born of the rubble that lies there Nurtured through snow and through rain By men whose only companions Are derrick, and shovel, and crane. Center for great institutions Place where conglomerates grow Yet home for the little cigar shop With the candies all in a row. Seven-seven-seven they will call you. Towards heaven, heaven, heaven you will soar. Only God can make a tree, I will grant you But only man can make a 40th floor.

yep, it was tough. i was eyeball to eyeball with a crazy italian poetess (just like john and paul writing i want to hold your hand) arguing about prepositions, punctuation and philosophy. there wre times when it got so hard i just wanted to quit but i stuck it out for you guys cos i know you all hate a quitter, right?

i'm working on a marketing strategy for the book at the moment. i've come up with this slogan:
the slogan: if you only buy one book of poetry in your life make it this one
has a sort of threatening clint eastwoody feel to it, right? the phrase "the slogan:" is actually part of the slogan. it's post-modern.
what do you guys think?

gotta make it stand out from the crowd so putting the slogan bit in is a good touch.

"sucks... gimme La Seconda Natura any day over this ****" A foreword by Elvis Aaron PresleyHi. You know, whenever I'm browsing through a shopping mall, or busy bying groceries at a supermarket, I often find myself humming one of the many happy songs that this Alessandra babe made. "I pensieri si piegano nella febbre", I'll find myself crooning as I tip a grocery clerk a new pink Cadillac, or "I miei giorni di privazione non hanno nessun merito", I'll sing as I buy some more Listerine. It's amazing how often I find myself breaking into "Orizzonte degli eventi", especially when the holidays come around. How I wish I could have that on my Christmas album. And I'd give anything to have recorded "Se ancora ti interessa" instead of "All shook up". Listen, if you ask me this chick is the greatest, and if only I were alive today I would be covering some of her epoch-making songs. But excuse me now y'all, as I have to go out and visit some more supermarkets, so the folks in America will know I'm still around. Hope ya enjoy this book as much as me, El P.S. that manho fella is ok too, I guess.

alessandra is the sicilian poetess: she wouldn't be of any interest to you guys. bookish type, glasses, that sort of thing.

When I read that stuff, I thought it was all about getting laid. Then when I found out it was written by a woman, I figured out that it was about discontent.
Way to go Nick

comment on toom's comment from the poetess herself:
"good that he/she did not figure out that it was written by a woman. Bad that his/her main hurdle was what it was about. And by the way it is *also* about getting laid (but not only, thank goodness)"
