Nice seeing that Chimes cover by Bruce and the Gang. I was fortunate enough to catch one of these Amnesty shows at Maple Leaf Gardens. The show started at 5pm and ended at 1am. It was one of the best concerts I'd ever witnessed. All the performances were great however, in my opinion Gabriel stole the show.

I can't say I agree about Shelter, but that Man Gave Names is sure a hell of a lot better than the original . . .

I've always regarded Shelter as a lesser song...I mean big deal...nothing much really happens. It might as well have been a song about a nice Motel 6 on a long road trip.

I think you're having trouble with your English again. Let me see if I can help. Every song David Crosby sings lead on sucks big time. Everything on Blood On The Tracks is great.
The best version of Shelter's on Hard Rain though . . .

I don't know. My idea of a lesser song is Man Gave Names. I like the McCoury version because, unlike Bob, they seem to think it's a huge joke. And there's some nice banjo. The song still isn't any good, but it doesn't annoy me this way.

not really
idiot wind as recorded on Blood on the tracks sucks big time too
Blood is far from being a perfect album - another boby myth
shelter get the real treatment on hard rain only, while Idiot wind is perfect on hard rain, but also the NYC outtake is about pefect

I think the Hard Rain version is the best one as well. I've also a warm spot for the version from San Jose '92.
