Yeah, that's on the re-released Blackpool '89 DVD. Great stuff. Even though King Monkey looks like he's about 13.

That's 10 songs I haven't seen him do before (I think), so I'd be satisfied with that. I'd be even more satisfied if he threw in 'the night before' or 'things we said today', but I'll take what I can get for free.
And it's in Quebec City, not Montreal.

So am I the only islander going Beatle-ing this year? And for free, no less. Of course, I have to put up with a bunch of frenchies for several hours, but still...maybe he'll play the frog chorus.
Hiyo!

What we know so far:
Tunes - the shock of the lightning, bag it up, soldier on, I'm outta time. (allegedly): stop the clocks, get off your high horse (lady)
Noel's written 7, Liam 2, Andy 1 and Gem 1.
2 months to when I see them again, twice in 3 days. Gonna be a fun few months.

Yeah boy! boby played 'Handy Dandy' (the only tune on Under the Red Sky that's worth a shit in my world) in Spain. How long has it been since the cunt pulled a different song out? (special guest slots don't count). My first guess is Durango. Million dollar bash? This isn't terrible. It's not great, either. 2008 dylan fever: catch it!

I was doing that for a while on the island and david was doing it on the main board, but the unfortunate thing was that we were doing it on the pool. So we lost the archive *and* the thing it was archiving.

and in unreleated news I've been listening (or, at least, sitting through) the late September 1964 concert, and I gotta say this setlist might be one of the best I've ever seen. If the vault ever opens in my lifetime I'd do just about anything to hear this show in great sound.
Check this thing out for crying out loud:
Town Hall (Philadelphia, PA); September 1964
Times They Are A-Changin' Girl From The North Country Who Killed Davey Moore? Talkin' John Birch Paranoid Blues To Ramona Ballad Of Hollis Brown Chimes Of Freedom I Don't Believe You It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) Mr Tambourine Man Talking World War III Blues Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall Don't Think Twice Only A Pawn In Their Game With God On Our Side It Ain't Me Babe Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carroll All I Really Want To Do
Hi, I'm a great setlist. Quote This Message | Reply To This Message Re: 19 poolers, 16 songs, 8 weeks, 1 little punk-ass who doesn't know when to shut up... Author: blair (---.dsl.sntc01.pacbell.net) [info] Date: 08-07-03 18:50
No setlist is complete without Honest With Me. Uncle Benny ruled.

The lesson, as always: Dave Gilmour makes things better.*** (Apparently Roger Waters skipped that lesson before the "hey, I'll go on tour and play dark side of the moon by myself!" idea popped into his head.) I have two or three of those re-releases. At some point, I suppose I should get around to getting the rest of them. ***NB: I don't actually believe this.

About time. I've almost bought the criterion collection DVD loads of time, but it's way too damn expensive to warrant a purchase.

Yeah, and if I'd booked a plane ticket three days later last year, I could've been there. Fuck. Thanks for reminding me.
(It's my favourite smiths song, too. And he played the second half of the show with an all-girl string quartet. And he played sad song. And don't go away. And two songs with Weller. Fuck.)

I've got every stones live album...this isn't even as good as stripped. I did like You got the silver and the Jack White duet, though.

Phil Daniels is only 49? I thought he'd be 60, judging by the parklife video...which was over a decade ago.

Nah, that was the girl beside me who'd been screaming "you're wicked!" at him all night. "No, I'm not. In fact, I'm quite nice."

Isn't there like, what...12 people out there? Hard to justify the expense.
Anecdote from the show I saw in Dublin 5 years ago, Noel dedicated don't look back in anger to all his aunties who came down from County Mayo, which I heard as Canada. Which I thought was a bit much, since he'd just dedicated rock'n roll star to me on account of my Team Canada hat. (I was in the front row, and he'd been looking over at me oddly all night, culminating in him looking at me, pointing to his head and saying "long trip, that. I guess this one's for you."
Not a bad night out, all told.

I think by Coke, Stevie Wonder had an issue with step out (sounds like uptight), and whatever, I don't think there was anyone else, offhand. Bolan's people never did anything with cigarettes & alcohol that I know of.
The song they were speaking of in particular was the band from one of the reality shows (one of the ones before pop idol), whose name is escaping me, that had a song that sounded suspiciously like all around the world.
