Our kid bought me the delux edition of help! for chrimble...looks pretty cool, but the packaging of the DVDs themselves is a bit shit. They don't stay in their holders at all. Got all scratched up. Bah. Typical Assheadpinall.

Well, my first guess was me, and as far as I know, I'm not...so I'm stumped.
"Ringo, for the love of god, please force your son to join oasis permanently. A singer and 3 guitarists does not a band make."

--"I did my research," says Gould, "and this meeting is no myth. It really happened."
I didn't realize it was 1969 again and this was actually newsworthy. Please cc me on all future time-travel memos. Thank you.

Yeah, that tour was pretty bad. I know a couple of people that were actually there, and their opinion is it was as bad/weird as it sounds.

I can't wait to see Jarvis take on those two songs. Should be fun.
Though I prefer the sgt.peppers the BBC did a few months ago. The highlights being Pete & Carl Libertine doing A day in the life and oasis doing within you without you in the style of tomorrow never knows. The rest was just shit.

I bought a bootleg copy of Help! when I was in San Fran a few years ago (Amoeba records strikes again.) I've definitely watched it more than AHDN. Not because it's any better, but it's just funny. I still think George Lucas stole the "not the one you're looking for" from the beginning of Help!
Leo McKern: Hello Bee-at-le! Eleanor Bron: He is not the one you seek. Paul: I'm not? (sighs sadly) Eleanor Bron: No, unfortunately.
Replace Paul with Luke, Ahme with Obi Wan and Klang with whoever was chasing them in star wars and voila. The folk process at work.

So they had the same two guys do commentary for the same movie a second time? I did not know that. I just assumed it was the same from the version that was released 5 or 6 years ago.

The audio commentary on dont lok back is actually pretty good. I chalk it up to Neuwirth. The only other audio commentary I've ever listened to was on This is Spinal Tap, which is arguably better than the movie itself. Which is saying something.

I just put the first anthology on the ipod. Haven't listened to it in years, but man is it ever good.
