"Herzog does 'Bad Lieutenant'" it got incredibly bad reviews. also from herzog fans. don't hold your breath. I'm thinking of seeing it too, has anybody seen it? I don't know why I trust reviews, some of the best stuff that I like has gotten panned. You guys, I'd trust more than "reviewers", where is Concy?

I went,(got in for $50, less than face) it was ok. Which means it sucked, because it wasn't great.I thought it might be great because when I saw him this summer, I really liked it, plus he dumped useless Denny and replaced him with old Charlie. Charlie was good, but the show was nothing special. I mean, IT'S ALL GOOD! HAHAHA

I'm thinking about going to the big Bob Dylan show tomorrow, or more accurately, waving a couple of bucks around to try to get in for what I think he is worth these days (ie, less than face value). Once I'm in the city, there are a bunch of plan B's I can fall into. So, maybe I'm going tomorrow.

Alright, fess up: Who else owns a Klaatu record?
I had the second one when it came out, and later ended up with my friends 1st album (I mighta traded him Ringo the 4th is memory serves). I'm listening to the 1st one now. Whoever in the fuck thought this was the Beatles was either a moron, waaaaayy stoned, or a record executive looking to push product. Turns out they were Canucks, right? Now, if you tell me they were really Badfinger... Anus of Uranus, Peace and Love!

Sad thing is, the accordian is one of the better parts of the record. The music is boring and unoriginal, but very well-played. Lyrics sound like they were dashed off during a crap. If Hunter punched this up, I can't imagine what Boby originally came up with. I really like Change Coming On, it sounds like an actual song. Most of this is just Boby aping the blues and other old-timey jams. Better than Modern Times though!

This Alexis Petridis, a bit of a cunt, eh? Didn't realize the Kinks went country in the 70's. The one "country" record they made, maybe their best record ever, is even labled their "last great record" by him earlier in the article.

Make room for yet another Kinks Komp, this one heralded as their first box-set. It's got to be pretty cheap for me to buy it if I already have most of it. And no Did Ya?! That would be perfect for a box like this. Also, Ray is playing close to here in a couple of weeks, Asbury Park, I saw him once this year, so probably a pass.

anyway, the second Mississipi is the best thing on the album - that would have made time out of mind a minor masterpiece - but all in all it's mostly pretty good in my humble That 2nd Mississippi is wicked weak IMO. It's just slower and more boring than the L&T one (which I don't like either), minus the stupid bassline and with a wildly inconsistant vocal effort. You go from annoying whispering to some "special moments". Interesting as a peek behind the curtain, but we didn't really need this. That track crystalizes my main complaint with this whole set-Over 2 (or 3) discs, we get what, like 5 new(ish) songs? That giving credit for the ones that got worked into other songs. He's gotta have way more stuff that hasn't made it out in any form, WTF? My current favorite after a few spins is the "Paul Simon" disc 2 Dignity .

Maybe he was just tired of smelling like an artist.
Anyway, after already hearing the 2 cd thing on NPR, I'll pick it up eventually. The 2 disc one, and get disc 3 without paying $$$. After only 1 and a half listens, it sounds pretty good, but for what it is, it could have been much better.

Yeah, the Most of the Time sounded like the Pete Seeger version, good thing Bob sweated that out before he got serious about that tune.
Snippet heaven, this should be good.

It's not fair to judge them by a picture that was obviously taken on Halloween.
