dance to the music is the first real 68 song. guys who weren't around then will never be able to reproduce just how amazing it sounded blasting out of a city centre pub wurlitzer after two pints of tetley's.

"how about 3 secs of hiss ?"
boby would probably steal the hiss from an early blues 78.

maybe the songs on the next album will all be only one minute long... the lyrics written by other writers... the tunes borrowed again... maybe boby will even hand over the singing to another vocalist... and get somebody else to produce it... that really would be "the best fucking album ever", right?

i think we're seeing the dregs of 67 here. when the real 68 starts it will be a completely different type of music. back to the roots. just need to wait a few weeks. oh well. yes i'm lonely. bang bang shoot shoot.

chess wouldn't let muddy use his own musicians on his early recordings - 1948 to 1952 - so you hear really sophisticated guitar work but no drums and little bass. to compensate for this muddy recorded on different labels under different names with his own group. it was more like the real muddy. less cool, more animal. here's rollin' and tumblin' parts 1 and 2 (a side and b side) recorded in the same year as the chess record, 1950. gives you an idea of what they sounded like live. cream obviously based their cover on this version. www.sendspace.com/file/uyfke4www.sendspace.com/file/ugo65x

"The guys posting from the coast of the Pacific are immediately to fuck right off"
nah, that's not it. this place is the living proof that you can refuse corporate shite whether you live in serbia, canada, italy, california... there are cool guys everywhere. as conky will probably be able to explain all the good films come from iran or lesbia at the moment. who knows, maybe the next dylan will be chinese.
just say no to shite, wherever you live.

"I expect something better here"
hey, don't knock it. everywhere else you get passive acceptance. here you get critical investigation.
like, who else is thinking stoat?

"horse gonad injections"
hobo could be on to something here. if boby has one of those serious illnesses that kicked the bucket from under dudley moore he could be spending millions of dollars a year on medicines. dud went through his complete fortune in only a couple of years. remember the tony wilson story? he died cos he couldn't afford the medicine.
my guess is that boby has some rare stoat or skunk disease.
