"U2 asked Jeff Koons to work on the stage design for one of their stadium tours. Amazingly, he agreed. After several months, Koons invited the band to New York to see his backdrop idea. A curtain was triumphantly pulled back to reveal … a huge photograph of four kittens, in socks, hanging on a washing line. The collaboration didn’t go ahead. (Let’s just pause for a moment to imagine Bono’s face when the curtain went back.)"
koons nailed them

pf sloan. wrote some nice songs. worth remembering just for this:
-Jan Berry used Sloan as the lead falsetto voice instead of Dean Torrence on the band's top 10 hit "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena"-
go granny, go granny, go granny go

that's because it's a positive song. when he's whining about something or telling someone to fuck off and leave him alone the words come easily enough.

paul's been quiet for a couple of years but he just couldn't contain himself, he's back spouting bollocks: www.esquire.co.uk/culture/music/8511/paul-mccartney-interview/"The Beatles split up and we were sort of all equal. George did his record, John did his, I did mine, Ringo did his. It was as we were during the Beatles’ times. We were equal. When John got shot, aside from the pure horror of it, the lingering thing was, OK, well now John’s a martyr. A JFK. So what happened was, I started to get frustrated because people started to say, “Well, he was The Beatles.” And me, George and Ringo would go, “Er, hang on. It’s only a year ago we were all equal-ish.”" handy for john that he got shot then, made him famous.

i wonder if boby's people have been talking about the marvin gaye - thicke/pharrell lawsuit decision?
i listened to blurred lines and although it's nothing like the gaye song it does sound like about ten michael jackson songs.
simple answer to the problem? as all the rip off artists claim that it's not about the money but the creative process, that they have pure love for the originals and that it's just homage to great artists from the past why don't they simply add the original artist's name to the credits?
