mick jagger about the song produced by john lennon in 1973 that is out now on his comp. cd
“Too Many Cooks” is that it er, it was recorded in Los Angeles and we, what, I used, I mean I still spend a lot of time in Los Angeles and [INAUDIBLE] but this is the time when John Lennon was living, I guess or spending a lot of time in Los Angeles and I spent quite a lot time with John at this point. 1973 this is, put you in the year picture. And we used to do this thing, on Sundays, we used to go to the, I don’t know to this place called the Record Planters Studio in LA. And they used to give us or apparently or whatever the time on Sunday because nobody used to work in LA on Sunday. So, they gave us the kind of the afternoon and evening and we would go and a group of musicians would go. There was Jim Keltner, who’s like a famous session… drummer, great friend of Charlie’s. Al Kooper who played on “You Can’t Always Get What you Want” and other things. Um Jack Bruce from Cream.. um, Danny Quartz my guitarist session guitarist, quite famous. Um, John Lennon, me, er Bobby Keys, who plays with us on stage. Um, Trevor Lawrence who also played, used to play with us on stage, Saxophone player um, I can’t remember any others. Um, but that’s quite a lot. so we used to go down and do this, these er, these sessions and one of the tracks that we recorded at these sessions was this “Too Many Cooks” tune. Which was done in...? I’m, I’m sure it was done in one take. You know cos then you just move on to the next thing and um… and so, that’s been kicking around on me and I’ve seen it on… that’s on You Tube and I’m sure you can get a bootleg of it and everything but. So, we decided to put that out on this one.

i think we need a Paulie thread, he is by far the mosty busy member of the Beatles Paul McCartney is to play London's Roundhouse next month - as part of the line-up for BBC Electric Proms 2007. The Beatles legend will play the Camden venue on October 25. This will be the second time this year McCartney has played an intimate venue in Camden. He previously played at the Electric Ballroom in June - the week before his new solo album 'Memory Almost Full' was released. Festival Director Lorna Clarke says: "It is a real coup to have a true legend and one of the world's most creative artists performing for us at the festival. "We are delighted that he has embraced the spirit of what the Electric Proms are all about - creating new moments in music - I can't wait to hear what he has come up with." Kaiser Chiefs, Sigor Ros, Mark Ronson and Lily Allen are also set to appear at the even, now in its second year. Tickets will be onsale from noon on September 12. The Beatles film 'Help!' is finally set for DVD release on October 29, Apple Corps announced today (September 4).
The 1965 feature film follows the Fab Four as they are chased round from London to the Austrian Alps to the Bahamas, after Ringo takes possession of a sacrificial ring.
The Richard Lester directed film features Beatles' hits 'Help! and 'Ticket To Ride' on it's soundtrack.
The double-disc DVD will feature Help! digitally restored, and with a newly created 5.1 enhanced soundtrack. The second disc will include exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of The Beatles on the film set, as well as a documentary about the restoration process of the 60s film.
