anyway, i did a bit of shopping (almost impossible for me) for his prize earlier this evening and i came up with a couple of cds which i think will be right up his street:

1 louis armstrong, the span of the years, volume 2
2 the yardbirds

the yardbirds cd looks like one of those only released in italy professional bootlegs. it's got a few hits, train kept a rollin and a few other tracks with clapton on guitar, mostly jeff beck, tho. could even be live and collectible. i'm not gonna play it cos that would devalue the prize.
the satchmo cd looks like a real gem. knocked down twice - from 25 euros to 10 euros to the price i actually paid - it's a collection of 1920s stuff with the hot 5 and hot 7 etc... looks good.

lenny is a difficult guy to please but i think i've cracked it here.
