damn, i 'm so jealous of cripes autograph' collection
your story remind me of a wonderful neil young solo concert, back in 1989
after the show, we were a bunch of dorks waiting outside the theater in the cold freezin december night for about two damn hours - neil finally came up, i tried to approach him, i was sent away by somebody, in a very rude way and when i was almost crashing between a passing car and a bike, i noticed my wife that, not givin a fuck about me, reached neil, gave him a big tender kiss on his lips
I couldnt help but notice a warm, happy smile in Neil face, even stopping to say something to the wife, while i was thinking 'i'm a loser baby so why dont you kill me' years before any Beck of my ass

paolo, not sure why you think my musical taste is so different from yours. Other than After the Goldrush, I pretty much can't argue your top 6 Neil albums. Or actually 8

downloaded the spokane show, neil voice is fucked up for good - if you listen these songs close to the recently 1971 live in toronto cd, is like day and night
i'm so sick and tired of this old farts pretending they still could perform

Actually Ringo is my favorite Beatle not named Pete best.
I bet Neil can still play guitar though, or is he strictly casio too.

Tonight's The Night was big in the summer of 75 in my life. I was 17, just out of high school and out of my parent's house. I was living with my girlfriend and a buddy of mine in this cheap cinder block house on the outskirts of town. Lotsa drugs, liquor & parties. We played it all summer and it just kept sounding better.
I remember Ragged Glory coming out at the same time as Under the Red Sky. It was kinda embarrassing to be a boby fan and having to admit that the new Neil was way better.

Most worthless and annoying Neil albums Any of the CSNY reunions Greendale re-ac-tor Living with War Are You Passionate? This Note's For You Hawks & Doves
Probably Trans too, but I haven't heard it in a long time. I don't think I've listened to Ragged Glory since it came out. I remember not disliking it, but not liking it much either.
I liked that concert movie he did, though the first half with the Harvest Moon songs wasn't within miles of the second half, when he was doing his old stuff.

Re-act-or is a great album. Surfer Joe is a classic Neil song.

i don't think you can use words like "bright" or "cool" or whatever when you're talking about neil. he's outside of those categories and probably always has been. i'm with owen here cos for me the goldrush album is full of great songs and there are also about 3 or 4 on the harvest album. after that it's one or two per album. but you can always depend on neil to come up with one great song per album. no small thing. and as a performer he's second to none. check out this amazing performance. the song is from greendale. if you can't relate to this, you're dead: www.sendspace.com/file/os01wn

I liked Greendale quite a lot, combination of the sound and the "message". I'd rate it better than anything since Rust Never Sleeps. 60's and 70's the guy was pretty righteous. It's hard to rate the records against each other though though, as Nick said, there's always one (or 2)great songs even on the crappy records. However, I'd go: Buffalo Springfield Again After the Goldrush On the Beach Tonight's the Night Zuma

Most worthless and annoying Neil albums Living with War in the new update biography of the great great david crosby, croz ask neil why the songs on Living with war are musically speaking so so-and-so neil says, "do you think i would use a good song for that Bush asshole? I save the good ones for other projects"
