couple of interesting looking documentaries to keep an ear flapping for (no sign of them on YouseTube). they're both by a guy called sean o'mordha (pronunciation help?):
silence to silence
is there one here who understands me
as you might have guessed the first one is about beckett and the second about joyce.

note to cnuks: joyce and beckett have the reputation of being hard to understand and not much fun but if you put a bit of effort in to it you'll discover that they're two funny guys. a lorra lorra laffs.

The 26-year-old former electrician struck a brilliant, brutal 113 from 63 balls to transform a match which seemed destined to be a drab English victory. Six times he cleared the boundary with an easy, uncomplicated swing of the bat as he played the innings of his, or anyone else's, lifetime"

"Last week I mentioned Spike Milligan ("the performing man") and I'm delighted to see that his life is to be celebrated on BBC2 tonight, in a programme called I Told You I Was Ill. This is the legend he wanted to be on his gravestone, but the local diocese, Chichester, refused to allow it until 2004, two years later, and then only on condition that it appeared in Irish"
